Wetplants Review 2026

Wetplants is a small, family-owned online retailer specializing in aquatic plants for aquariums and ponds. Operating at wetplants.com and powered by Shopify, the store offers a wide range of live aquatic plants including Anubias, Aponogetons, Bulbs, Bunch Plants, Crypts, Grasslike species, Potted plants, Sword Plants, Exotic Aquatic varieties, and Tissue Cultures. Beyond live plants, Wetplants also carries dry goods such as hardscape, aquarium stones, tank maintenance supplies, and lifestyle products for aquascaping enthusiasts.

One of the store's key differentiators is its direct distributor sourcing model. Rather than going through multiple middlemen, Wetplants picks and ships plants directly from a major US distributor's supply. This shorter supply chain is intended to deliver fresher, higher-quality plants to customers, as there is less time between the nursery and the buyer's door. The store also offers a Price Guarantee, promising to match any lower advertised price for the same quality and size of plant found elsewhere.

Wetplants ships exclusively to the contiguous United States using FedEx and UPS. Orders generally require 3–6 business days for processing, with shipments going out Monday through Wednesday, and occasionally Thursday at the store's discretion. Customers should note that PO Boxes cannot be used for delivery. During extreme weather conditions, the store reserves the right to delay shipments to protect plant health in transit. Route Shipping Protection is available to cover lost, damaged, or stolen packages.

The store's Quality Guarantee provides some peace of mind for live plant purchases. If plants arrive dead on the first delivery attempt, customers must photograph the deceased plants in their original packaging and submit the evidence within 12 hours of delivery. Wetplants will then issue store credit at its discretion. There is no standard return policy for live plants beyond this DOA process, which is typical for perishable live goods in the aquatic plant industry.

In addition to its consumer storefront, Wetplants offers a Wholesale Program for businesses and serious hobbyists looking to purchase in larger quantities. The site also features a Plant of the Month collection, plant care guides, and a blog to help customers succeed with their aquatic plants. Product images are sourced directly from the nursery to provide accurate representations, though some carry third-party watermarks in the interim as Wetplants builds its own photo library.
