Why we built this
Most "best of" lists that dominate search are paid-placement directories in disguise. We built something different.
Trusted Buyer Report started from a simple frustration: the "best of" lists dominating Google were almost universally pay-to-play. Stores that paid for placement sat at the top. Stores that didn't — even if they were genuinely better — disappeared.

This site is run independently by a single editor, with AI doing the heavy lifting on research and drafting. AI lets one person read patterns across far more specifications and reviews than would be possible by hand — but a human checks the facts and the sources before anything goes live.
We publish our scoring framework openly and follow it, and we made one hard rule: no store can pay for a better rating. Affiliate links are added only after the editorial assessment is complete — never before.
We are still early. But every article we publish is one more step in the same direction: that honest, transparent, well-sourced research is both possible and worth doing.
How every article gets made
A consistent, research-based process for every review and buying guide — so you know the recommendation is sourced, not sponsored.
- No store can pay to be featured, ranked higher, or reviewed faster
- Affiliate links are added after the editorial assessment is complete — never before
- We do not personally test physical products; product articles are research-based and cite their sources
- Every article shows the date of its most recent substantive update
- AI-assisted articles are clearly labeled as such
- Reader-submitted corrections are reviewed promptly and, if confirmed, fixed and logged publicly
How we use AI — and how we don't
AI is part of how this site is made. We're specific about what it does, and where a human takes over.
- Gathers manufacturer specs, independent lab tests, pricing history, and verified reviews
- Detects patterns and flags conflicts between marketing claims and reported experience
- Produces a sourced first draft for the editor to review, fact-check, and edit
- Powers our AI Tools (Summarizer, Comparator, Shopping Assistant) — all clearly labeled
- Publish anything on its own — every article is reviewed and fact-checked by a human first
- Set or change a score without human review
- Appear unlabeled — AI-assisted articles carry an AI badge
- Contact a store, brand, or advertiser on our behalf
- Make any monetisation or affiliate-link decision
